BOOK: NEVER LET ME GO

kazuo_ishiguro

A love story set in a dystopian alternate history.

I read this in one afternoon.  Ishiguro’s prose is phenomenal and stylistically has a lot more in common with contemporary British writers (he lives in London) than Japanese authors who he admits have had little influence on him.

A darkly beautiful novel that only reveals its black heart gradually, Ishiguro’s pacing is a thing of perfection and is probably why I had to finish it in one sitting.  I absolutely recommend it but don’t see the movie.  Its not terrible but you haven’t heard of it for a reason and Keira Knightley is annoying as shit.  Per usual.
